When Anxiety Attacks PT2 "Lions Lizards Lies"

Peter 5:5-9,

5 In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 5:5,

“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

Matthew 16:21-23,

21 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life. 22 Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. “Never, Lord!” he said. “This shall never happen to you!” 23 Jesus turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! When Anxiety Attacks PT 1

1 Peter 5:5-9,

To Give or Not to Give: That is NOT the question

Philippians 4:10-20,

10  I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me.

Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it.  11  I am not

saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the

circumstances.  12  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have

plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation,

whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  13  I can do all this

through him who gives me strength. 14  Yet it was good of you to share in my

troubles.  15  Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your

acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church

shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only;  16  for even

when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid more than once when I was in

need.  17  Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to

your account.  18  I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am

amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent.

They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.  19  And my

God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

20  To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Philippians 4:12,

12  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have

harvest if we do not give up.  10  Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do

good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Proverbs 3:27,

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.

Philippians 4:17,

17  Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your

account.

2. CREDIT ACCOUNTS

19  “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin

destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  20  But store up for yourselves

treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves

do not break in and steal.

1 Timothy 6:18-19,

18  Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and

willing to share.  19  In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm

foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly

life.

3. PLEASE GOD

16  And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such

sacrifices God is pleased.

Matthew 3:17,

17  And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well

pleased.”

Luke 22:42,

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be

done.”

Hebrews 11:6,

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to

him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek

him.

Philippians 4:19,

19  And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ

Jesus.
