22Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Hebrews 4:16,

16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Isaiah 55:9,

9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

My ability to respond well to external battles has everything to do with my ability to fight the internal war successfully.

Exodus 17:8-13,

8 The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. 9 Moses said to Joshua, “Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.” 10 So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill. 11 As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.12 When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. 13 So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.

Nothing so influences your life as your ability to control your spirit in the midst of volatile feelings and the madness of life.

28 Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.

26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Proverbs 16:32 NASB,

32 He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city.

Mark 14:38,

38 Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Proverbs 17:27 NASB,

27 He who restrains his words has knowledge, And he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.

Psalm 51:12,

12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Daniel 6:3,

3 Then this Daniel became distinguished above all the other high officials and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.

Psalm 34:18,

18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

A spirit under God’s control is key to the winning the war within yourself.
