Numbers 12:6-8,
6  he said, “Listen to my words: “When there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord,
reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams. 7  But this is not true
of my servant Moses; he is faithful in all my house. 8  With him I speak face to
face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the Lord. Why then were you
not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?”

Exodus 33:12-23,
12  Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you
have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by
name and you have found favor with me.’  13  If you are pleased with me, teach me
your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that
this nation is your people.” 14  The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I
will give you rest.” 15  Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with
us, do not send us up from here.  16  How will anyone know that you are pleased with
me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and
your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?” 17  And
the Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am
pleased with you and I know you by name.” 18  Then Moses said, “Now show me your
glory.” 19  And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you,
and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom
I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have
compassion.  20  But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and
live.” 21  Then the Lord said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a
rock.  22  When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you
with my hand until I have passed by.  23  Then I will remove my hand and you will see
my back; but my face must not be seen.”

Exodus 33:15,
15  Then Moses said to him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up
from here.
1. THE FIRST 40
1.1 – THE FAITH OF HIS PARENTS

Hebrews 11:23 says,
23  By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because
they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict.

1.2 – THE THING THAT WAS MEANT TO KILL MOSES WAS THE VERY THING
THAT PROPELLED HIM TO HIS DESTINY

Acts 7:23,
23  “When Moses was forty years old, he decided to visit his own people, the
Israelites.  24  He saw one of them being mistreated by an Egyptian, so he went to
his defense and avenged him by killing the Egyptian. 25  Moses thought that his own
people would realize that God was using him to rescue them, but they did
not.  26  The next day Moses came upon two Israelites who were fighting. He tried
to reconcile them by saying, ‘Men, you are brothers; why do you want to hurt each
other?’ 27  “But the man who was mistreating the other pushed Moses aside and
said, ‘Who made you ruler and judge over us?  28  Are you thinking of killing me as
you killed the Egyptian yesterday?’ [e]   29  When Moses heard this, he fled to Midian,
where he settled as a foreigner and had two sons.

3. THE THIRD AND LAST FORTY YEARS
3.1 IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO SERVE GOD

Deuteronomy 34:4-7,

4  Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham,
Isaac and Jacob when I said, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have let you see
it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it.” 5  And Moses the servant of
the Lord died there in Moab, as the Lord had said.  6  He buried him in Moab, in the
valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is.  7  Moses
was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor
his strength gone.

Exodus 33:13,
13  If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue
to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”
Psalms 103:7,
