MESSAGE NOTES:

Mark 6:34,
34  When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because
they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things

1. The Heart of the Father

Luke 15:1-3
1 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus.  2  But
the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners
and eats with them.” 3 Then Jesus told them this parable…

2. The Reality of Eternity

Matthew 25:46
Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.

Luke 16:23,
23  In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away,
with Lazarus by his side.

Matthew 6:19-21
19  “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin
destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  20  But store up for yourselves
treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves
do not break in and steal.  21  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be
also.

3. The Potential of People

Luke 19:5-10
5  When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come
down immediately. I must stay at your house today.”  6  So he came down at once and
welcomed him gladly. 7  All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone
to be the guest of a sinner.” 8  But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have
cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount.” 9  Jesus
said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because this man, too, is a
son of Abraham.  10  For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Luke 19:8,
Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of
my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will
pay back four times the amount.
